Weekend Lock 🔒
Arsenal (1.44) ⚽
Explaining the Pick 👇
In this edition of The Weekend Insider, our Weekend Lock is Arsenal who host Brighton on Sunday.
The Gunners have been rock solid at home, unbeaten in their last 12 games at the Emirates. Bukayo Saka has been electric this year, and is looking to continue his offensive involvement on Sunday. Although Brighton has played very strongly against Arsenal, winning 5 of their 12 Premier League matches, Arsenal has been the much better side this year. Being at home will help Arsenal to a 2-1 or 3-1 victory. We are locking-in the Gunners for this weekend.
Weekend Dawg 🤑
Colby Covington (2.32) 👊
Explaining the Pick 👇
Whether you love him or hate him, Colby “Chaos” Covington sells out arenas. Our Weekend Dawg is Covington, to beat Leon Edwards at UFC 296, to become the Welterweight Champion of the World.
Colby has had too many chances at the title, and it’s now or never for him to win it. In a stacked 170-pound division, there are several contenders knocking at the door, and Colby cannot afford to lose this bout. When his career was last in jeopardy (against Demian Maia in 2017) Covington delivered when it mattered most. Stylistically, this is a very interesting fight. We expect to see Covington favour his wrestling, while Edwards will stick to his success as a striker. Covington has been training for this fight in Colorado, at high altitude, and is hoping to use his cardio to his advantage and tire out Leon Edwards in this 5-round, 25-minute fight. Look for Covington to win by decision or split-decision, in what’s sure to be a memorable title fight. Colby’s time is now, and he is our Weekend Dawg.
Weekend Orbit 🚀
Detroit Pistons (9.4) 🏀
Explaining the Pick 👇
Yes, you’re reading that right. The Detroit Pistons are our Weekend Orbit, coming in as a major underdog against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pistons have lost 21 games in a row, and are due for a miracle this weekend against the 2021 NBA Champions. Let’s sprinkle a little bit on the Pistons, with odds that are just too juicy to pass up on.
NHL Feature 🧊
New York Rangers vs Boston Bruins 🏒
Saturday night, the Boston Bruins (1.89) host the New York Rangers (1.96) in a battle for the top of the NHL Eastern Conference.
Both teams are on fire this season, and are looking to make a statement against one another. The Bruins, led by sniper David Pastrnak, look to bounce back after losing their last outing to the Rangers, three weeks ago. Look out for a high-scoring, one-goal game at the TD Garden in Boston, Saturday night. With almost even-money odds, this is a toss up, and could go either way.
